Choir protects indigenous seeds in Nakuru areaCEFR A2

Makongo Village is near Nakuru city, northwest of Nairobi. Farmers and activists formed the Eden Indigenous Seed Farm Choir to defend local seed varieties and to teach simple farming skills.
The choir began in 2024 with weekly rehearsals at the founder's home. It recorded six songs in Swahili and Kikuyu and helped create a community seed bank that stores many indigenous seed varieties. Members teach seed selection, storage and women’s leadership at events and workshops.
