Two experts from Virginia Tech say romantic films can shape what people expect in relationships. Children see love stories in classic Disney films and newer titles, and these stories often celebrate marriage and happy endings.
Modern Hallmark-style films usually leave out many real-life problems. They often end when people find their “one true love.” Some viewers like these films because they provide relief from difficult dating or everyday stress.
