A project supported by the African Union Media Fellowship, International Consulting Expertise and the European Union collected interviews about Somali diasporans in Mogadishu and Nairobi. The fellowship is run by the African Union Information and Communication Directorate and aims to change common narratives about Africa.
The published series looks at migration, culture, creative art, community activism and international cooperation. One long interview talks with Miski Osman about identity, career and regional impact.
Miski was born in Sweden and grew up in the United Kingdom. She first visited Mogadishu in 2015. The visit became six months and she then lived and worked there for four years. By 2020 she moved to Nairobi. In January 2024 she became Project Governance Manager at UNOPS in Sierra Leone.
