- Bees sometimes fall into water and need to escape.
- They can move across the water surface to safety.
- Their wing undersides get wet and cannot lift.
- But their flight motor still moves the wings.
- Wing motion makes small waves that push them forward.
- Bees usually swim toward dark edges of the water.
- Dark areas may show land, plants, or the shore.
- An insecticide can make bees move in random ways.
