Environmental groups focused on forests during COP30, held from November 10 to 21, 2025, in Belém, Brazil. In Cameroon, the Network of Sustainable Development Actors (RADD) organized a forest immersion for women on November 17, 2025, to bring local forest experience into the global climate debate.

RADD grew out of the Kids For Forest project launched by Greenpeace International in the Congo Basin in 2009. RADD said it chose women because of their close relationship with land and forests. The organization also noted that over 40 percent of Cameroon is forested, but modern pressures—extractive industries, agro-industries, mining, dams and large projects—have weakened local ties to the forest.

The immersion included panels on a world without forests and on gender and climate finance, seed and handicraft exhibitions, a hike, a virtual link to Belém, tree planting at Sanaga Beach, a film and meetings with local forest representatives. RADD said the training helped women understand how forests support adaptation and mitigation and that women can propose solutions for COP30.
