Farming, breast milk and fewer food allergies

Researchers compared infants from Old Order Mennonite farm families and urban families in New York. Farm-exposed babies showed earlier immune maturation and higher antibodies, and breast milk antibody patterns were linked to lower egg allergy risk.

Plant-based swap changed breast milk fats

A small randomized trial in Austin found that replacing beef with a plant-based meat substitute changed the types of fat in breast milk in six days. Researchers say the shifts could affect infant brain development and immune function.
