The Need for Better Arts Funding in Trinidad and Tobago ^{CEFR A2}

Trinidad and Tobago has a rich cultural scene, but it struggles without sufficient financial support. Many arts initiatives, like the Bocas Lit Fest, face challenges securing funding. After years of support, recent cuts from the National Gas Company (NGC) have left the festival in a difficult position.

Smaller arts initiatives often fight for limited resources. The government’s contribution is very low, and other funding sources are unclear. Festivals need stable funding to help local talent grow and gain international recognition.
