Scientists know a lot about the surface of Mars. However, it is very hard to study what is under the ground. To solve this problem, a research team developed a new method called tidal tomography.
Using this new technique, researchers discovered a massive warm spot deep inside Mars. This hot spot is much warmer than the surrounding areas. This important finding helps scientists understand how the planet changes over time.
The researchers hope to use this method for the Moon as well. They want to discover new details about its hidden interior.
