Moharaj Sharma is a poet, journalist and documentary maker with two decades of experience. He is News Editor at AP1 Television and he hosts a weekly literary segment. He is also a long-time member of the International Nepali Literary Society.
Sharma researches the roots of Nepali and Sanskrit and made a documentary about Nepali-speaking Bhutanese refugees. In the 1990s a policy led to the expulsion of many Nepali speakers who lived in camps in eastern Nepal before resettling in several countries, including the USA, Australia and Canada.
He says poetry, journalism and documentary work together. His new poetry collection will focus on ordinary people, diaspora identity and social change.
