Deepa Devkota, a disability rights activist from Sindhuli District, became the first Nepali woman living with a disability to complete a wheelchair bungee jump at Bhote Kosi in Sindhupalchok. She lives with spina bifida and made the jump on her birthday in December 2025. Deepa dedicated the achievement to her parents, who faced social discrimination while raising her, and she thanked them for their support.
Earlier in December 2025 two other Nepali participants also completed wheelchair bungee jumps from the same platform. Organisers and disability groups say the sequence of jumps highlights how adventure sports can become more accessible, and the event has drawn attention to inclusion in tourism and sport in Nepal.
