The annual lying‑down contest at Brezna Ethno Village in Donja Brezna, Montenegro, ended on October 5 with a new record of 50 days. Two joint winners were Lidija Marković and Filip Knežević. The contest began on August 18, 2023, with 21 contestants from Montenegro, Russia, Serbia and Ukraine.
Organizers announced the end on Instagram with the message "Izležavanje od 50 dana se završilo" and its English line, "The 50 days of lounging are over." The winners shared the top prize of EUR 1000. Rules let contestants sleep, read, eat and drink, but they could not stand up. Toilet breaks were allowed every eight hours. Lidija said she came to enjoy, to rest, and to try to win.
