Toxic mine spill in Lubumbashi, DRC

On November 4, 2025 a dam at a mine in Lubumbashi operated by Congo Dongfang Mining collapsed, releasing toxic, acid-laden water. Authorities suspended CDM activities and an investigation was announced on November 22, 2025.
