Discovery Sheds New Light on Early Maya Rituals
Researchers found large monuments that show how early Mesoamericans held important rituals.
Archaeologists at Gabii, east of Rome, uncovered a large stone-lined basin dated to about 250 BCE. The feature may be a monumental pool and is part of wider discoveries; fieldwork will continue next summer.
