In Liberia, rural clinics are running out of free contraceptives. Many young women and girls cannot afford to buy birth control at private pharmacies. Because of this, many girls face unintended pregnancies and have to leave school.

The shortages happen because government deliveries are slow. Also, international donors are cutting their aid to Liberia. For example, some foreign organizations closed their offices or reduced financial support for healthcare.

Health groups say this crisis leads to dangerous consequences. Many women suffer from severe health complications without safe care. Advocates are asking for urgent funding to protect young women and girls across the country.
