Joshua Regrello, a talented musician from Trinidad and Tobago, has officially set a new world record by performing for the longest duration on the steelpan, totaling 31 hours. His marathon performance began on December 27, 2024, at 6:00 a.m. and ended at 1:00 p.m. the following day. Regrello's success was made possible with the enthusiastic support of fans present at WACK radio station.
Throughout the 31 hours, he adhered to Guinness World Records guidelines, taking five-minute breaks every hour and playing around 200 songs, each lasting at least two minutes. This achievement not only highlights Regrello's dedication but also celebrates the cultural significance of the steelpan in Trinidad and Tobago.
After five months of verification, Guinness confirmed his record. Local authorities, including Michelle Benjamin, praised Regrello's accomplishment, reinforcing its importance for the country's representation on a global stage.
