Tiny battery-free ultrasonic tags for smart homes

Researchers at Georgia Tech made tiny, battery-free metal tags that emit short ultrasonic pulses when touched. A nearby wearable can detect each tag’s unique sound for activity recognition and simple smart-home monitoring.
