Moharaj Sharma combines poetry, journalism and documentary film to amplify Nepali literature and diaspora voices. With two decades of work in radio and television, he serves as News Editor at AP1 Television and hosts a weekly literary segment. He is a long-time member of the International Nepali Literary Society and has received honours from INLS, Gauhati University and literary institutions in Bhutan, the US and South Korea.

His research examines the linguistic roots of Nepali and Sanskrit. Sharma documented the long story of Nepali-speaking Bhutanese people, noting a 1624 AD movement of Nepali households to Bhutan after an agreement between Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel and King Ram Shah. He also records the 1990s 'One Nation, One People' policy that resulted in the expulsion of over 100,000 Nepali speakers, who lived in refugee camps in eastern Nepal for nearly two decades before resettlement in eight countries, including the USA, Australia and Canada.

Nepal’s diversity—142 ethnic groups and over 120 languages—and Nepali-speaking communities in around 150 countries shape his work. He describes the shift from limited radio access to a digital era in which mobile technology lets many voices be heard, while also creating challenges from exaggeration and commercial content. His forthcoming poetry collection focuses on ordinary people, diaspora identity, social change and the tension between tradition and modernity.
