Bangladesh will hold its 13th National Parliamentary Election on February 12, 2026. Campaigning is moving from street rallies to social media platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, X and YouTube.
Political parties and candidates use videos, live streams, songs and games to reach voters. Young people are a large online audience and many campaigns target them.
The Election Commission has set rules for online campaigning. Candidates must give official social media account details in advance, and the rules ban content that breaks the electoral code, including AI-driven manipulations.
