Artificial intelligence is now part of many services and products. A global Ipsos survey found 55 percent of respondents felt AI offers more benefits than drawbacks. Private investment in AI has also grown over the past decade, and companies often promote speed and ease of use.
Many people still worry about bias and harm. Wired reported some image tools, for example Midjourney, produced harmful images of LGBTQ+ people. UNESCO found that models like Meta's Llama 2 and OpenAI's GPT-2 produced negative content about gay people more than half of the time in tests. Advocates ask for better safeguards and more input from LGBTQ+ people.
